Scottish Government Consultation on the Future of Oral Health
14 September 2016
The Government will be launching a consultation on the review of NHS general dental services on the 15th of September 2016, for a period of three months. There will be extensive consultation, with 11 roadshows around Scotland between 3rd October and 17th November and a series of meetings with stakeholders. All GDPs are encouraged to attend these roadshows as it will affect how NHS dentistry is delivered over the coming years.
It is the view of this LDC that the introduction of a properly funded COMPREHENSIVE ORAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT, with a focus on diagnosis, prevention, the detection of oral cancer and the oral signs of systemic disease – is the way we should be reshaping the delivery of modern dental care.
