Rhoda Kirkland (Glasgow North)

My name is Rhoda Kirkland. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2010. I carried out my VT year in Dunoon. I then worked for a year in the public dent

al service and the restorative department of Glasgow Dental Hospital. I worked as an associate in a predominately NHS practice for eight years including four years as a VT Trainer. I have more recently started working for Mydentist in the Glasgow North area.

I think the LDC carries out an important role in representing local dentists. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a fast changing and challenging situation for all dentists and the LDC has been an invaluable source of information. This has made me keen to be actively involved in the committee.

I think I would make a good representative as I have worked in a range of settings within the local Glasgow area. Due to my background as an associate and a VT trainer I feel I am aware of the issues facing younger dentists. I am committed to providing NHS dentistry and would like to contribute to long term future discussions.
